I am spending the month of August driving, walking, and camping along a route from Murfreesboro, Tennessee to Tampa, Florida to attend the Veterans for Ron Paul March On The Republican National Convention (http://www.facebook.com/groups/VetsMarchOnRepublicanConvention/). I am a disabled veteran who is making this journey as a pilgrimage in memorial to a veteran friend who took his own life after serving overseas and developing PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). This is also an awareness tour in which I am seeking to inform others about the human costs of this unconstitutional overseas military occupation which are being borne by our service-members, veterans, their families and friends, our nation, and innocent bystanders in Afghanistan and other places. I will be speaking with various media sources and passing out literature in numerous towns in Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida.
“The 2012 active-duty suicide total of 154 through June 3 compares to 130 in the same period last year, an 18 percent increase. And it’s more than the 136.2 suicides that the Pentagon had projected for this period based on the trend from 2001-2011. This year’s January-May total is up 25 percent from two years ago, and it is 16 percent ahead of the pace for 2009, which ended with the highest yearly total thus far.
The military also is struggling with increased sexual assaults, alcohol abuse, domestic violence, and other misbehavior.
Suicide totals have exceeded U.S. combat deaths in Afghanistan in earlier periods, including for the full years 2008 and 2009.”
Over 2,000 U.S. service-members have died in the military occupation of Afghanistan, which is now officially the longest war in American history coming up on its’ 11 year anniversary this October.

I will be using a vehicle to transport equipment, materials, and supplies between each town, but will be carrying the Disabled Veterans for Ron Paul/Combat Veterans for Ron Paul flag and hand-outs thru a different town each day by foot. If you live in or near any of these areas, please feel free to come out on the date listed to check it out. Any and all support is welcome and appreciated. I’ll be looking for high vehicle and foot-traffic areas in each town to walk thru and possibly set up an informational table for part of the day for passing out literature and speaking with passers-by. As I’m not previously familiar with all of these towns and locations, any feedback from local supporters about where to walk, set-up, etc. would be appreciated. If you have pertinent information, you may reach me at email@example.com
